Bury 10K Run is 16 September 2018

The Asda Foundation Bury 10k, which is a mass participation running event, is due to take place on the morning of Sunday 16 September.  This will be followed by the much shorter Arena Group Family Fun Run. Both events are in their third year and start and end near to The Rock in Bury town centre.

Key points about this year’s event

The Bury 10k is open to people aged 15 years or over.  The entry fee is £25.

The family fun run is open to anyone aged 3 or over and is free for youngsters aged 3-14 years.  Anyone aged 15+ that is also running in the Bury10k can take part in the family fun run free of charge, otherwise entry is £5Event date – Sunday 16 September 201

Event venue – Both runs start and finish close to The Rock
Bury 10k official start time – 9.30a
Family fun run start time – Approx 11.45a
Runners raise money for a good cause of their own or one of the event partner charities (Bury Hospice, Early Break, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, WHAG the Jane Tomlinson Appeal)
People not entering the event are encouraged to line the route to cheer participants on.

Road closures
The event requires the closure of roads and road junctions as well as the suspension of a number of Traffic Regulation Orders between 4am and 4pm on Sunday 16 September 2018. There will also be suspension of parking from 07:00 on Saturday 15t September until 16:00 on Sunday 16 September 2018.  However, it should be noted that these closures and suspensions are likely to be in place from approximately 8am until approximately 12.30pm. View a full list of road closures and parking suspensions with approximate times.
