The Mayor of Bury is urging local people to raise money for Bury Hospice by backing its Strictly Best Foot Forward dance-off.
Councillor Trevor Holt and his wife Evelyn are taking part in the grand final, which takes place on Saturday 7 December at the Longfield Suite in Prestwich.
This is the third year of the hospice’s Strictly contests, launched by the council’s deputy registrar Deborah Lisle. Participants are given 12 weeks of dance lessons at A Touch of Class dance studio in Little Lever in return for raising at least £500 for Bury Hospice, and get to perform their routines in the final. The last two contests have raised a total of £102,000 for Bury Hospice.
The Mayor said: “We are really looking forward to the final on Saturday 7 December which will be a great night that will not only raise funds for Bury Hospice but will be an enjoyable occasion for contestants and spectators.”
