All Household Waste Recycling Centres now Open

by timpickstone on 30 June, 2020

The remaining Household Waste Recycling Centres (e.g. Every St in Bury and Cobden St in Salford) are now open 7 days a week. Greater Manchester Waste are still asking people to only visit if it is essential.

All recycling containers will now be available apart from the textile banks as the reprocessor is still not accepting textiles. Apparently this is a UK wide issue.

The No Van policy has been lifted so residents can visit the recycling centres in a van (if it’s less than 2 metres high), however the restriction on trailers will remain.

They will be reminding traders and residents about the access restriction policy that was introduced in February. ANPR and CCTV cameras are in operation and the visitor limits are:

·         Standard car – 52 times per time

·         Vehicle less than 3.5 tonnes – 18 times a year

·         Vehicle more than 3.5 tonnes 12 times a year

Follow Recycling Centre social distancing measures

  • Stay two metres (six feet) away from other visitors and staff at all times
  •  Two people from the same household may leave their vehicle only to carry large items
  • Other passengers must remain in the car
  • Only visit if you really need to

Recycling Centre Rules

  • No trade waste
  • No trailers
  • No pedestrian access
  • SUEZ staff will not be able to help unload your vehicle
  • Please expect to queue for longer than usual due to social distancing restrictions in place. Please make sure you don’t block access for other road users
